Schooling Uncut
 behind the scenes with Jasper
A UNIQUE, FLY-ON-THE-WALL VIDEO SERIES GIVING FULL ACCESS TO THE SCHOOLING JOURNEY OF ONE HORSE, JASPER.
 I'VE GOT GREAT NEWS
It's true. YOU are the best person to train your horse.
Â
Even better, training doesn't have to involve long tiring sessions, pushing your horse on, fancy gadgets, learning the names of body parts or doing anything your horse is uncomfortable with!Â
Â
In fact, all that is needed is for us to slow down.
here's the weird thing...Â
Although slow work is incredibly simple and effective, it can be incredibly hard to do.
HERE'S WHY:
There is a major mindset shift needed for slow work.Â
We live in a world where we have been so conditioned to push our horses on and even live in fear of what might happen if we donât. We often also hold a subconscious âno-pain-no-gainâ belief that things need to be difficult in order for them to work.Â
Very few people known what slow actually looks like.
Without seeing what slow work actually looks like and without witnessing the incredible benefits it can have, it is hard to completely trust in the process and allow it to unfold. Think about it - how hard would it be to even get on a bike and attempt to ride it if you had never seen another person do this!
Slow work has completely transformed my anxious and flighty New Forest pony.Â
Slow work has completely transformed my anxious and flighty New Forest pony. He is now gentle, friendly, trusting and has a beautiful posture with muscles in all the right places!

hey there!

CREATOR OFÂ SCHOOLING UNCUT
I know that youâve tried all sorts of things to help your horse, from gadgets to groundwork. And I know how disappointing it can be when nothing changes.Â
Iâve worked with dozens of horse owners, and the one thing thatâs consistently missing is the ability to truly slow down. Once people learn to fully embrace slowness, it becomes the starting point for beautiful connection, communication and profound change.
Unfortunately, in a world where weâre so conditioned to âpush onâ, slowing down can be incredibly challengingâespecially when we rarely see it in action.Â
If you are serious about using the incredible power of slow work to improve your horseâs posture, movement and wellbeing, you need to see what slow work looks like and have seen evidence that it works.Â
And I have created my new video series, Schooling Uncut to help with that.
 introducing...
Schooling Uncut
EXPERIENCEÂ FULLÂ ACCESS TO PROFESSIONAL HORSE SCHOOLING USING SLOW WALK WORK TECHNIQUES.
Filmed using my Pivo, I created this video series to showcase the power of slow walk work, helping fellow horse owners realise that they too can create profound changes by slowing down and using a few straightforward techniques.
Yes, you will see trust, connection and transformation develop over the six sessions, but more importantly than that you will start to truly understand what slow work looks like so that you can embody the methods when working with your own horse. Â
Are you ready to discover the magic of slow work?Â
Â
How often do you get to watch a trainer's entire process from start to finish?Â

Take a sneak peak into the series...
SESSION ONE
Establishing Synchronisation and Connection
Observe my first session with Jasper, where I start to establish synchronisation and connection and check this through walk-halt and halt-walk transitions in-hand. Listen to my observations of his posture, walk, and muscling, and how these inform our next steps, including which rein to work on and how to release his braced muscles.
SESSIONÂ TWO
Regaining Focus and First Ridden Work
At the start of this session, watch as I demonstrate how to regain connection and focus after distraction. We begin exploring in-hand rein back and collection. Listen to my observations of Jasperâs rein-back and why this exercise isnât suitable for all horses. As we continue working in-hand, I explain how Jasper is currently moving, stretching, and carrying himself, and what I aim to improve. We also complete our first ridden session, where I ask him to straighten and stretch, which proves easier for Jasper under saddle than from the ground.
SESSIONÂ THREE
Intuitive Touch and Finding Balance
Watch as I use intuitive touch to release braced muscles in Jasperâs neck and explore his range of movement. See his improvement through in-hand work as he lifts the forehand, balances, and collects. During our ridden walk, observe how we practise halt transitions to increase collection without using rein-back. We also work on stretching. At times, I become too focused on the outcome, and youâll see the consequences, along with how I recognise my missteps and adjust my approach.
SESSIONÂ FOUR
Synchronisation and Lateral Work
In this session, Jasper is very willing, and we become well synchronised during our in-hand work. Youâll see some successful lateral work, as well as rein-back and transitions from rein-back to forward movement. Watch as Jasper finds his balance in a square halt, and listen as I discuss shifting weight in halt and its impact on straightness and the mobility of hocks and stifles. Our ridden session was less successful, with a loss of synchronisation, and I discuss how different choices could have improved our work.
SESSIONÂ FIVE
Focusing on Hocks, Stifles, and Halt Transitions
Watch as we focus on Jasper's hocks and stifles and spend extra time synchronising. In this session, rein-back and stretching appear to cause him stress, so we keep these brief. During the ridden element, we work on halt transitions with increased attention to synchronisation. By the end of the session, there is a marked improvement from the start.
SESSIONÂ SIX
Final Session â Collection and Balance
In our final session, you can see the impact of all our previous work. During our in-hand work, we achieve new levels of collection and lift, and Jasper is able to release into a beautiful, correct stretch. He now shows better flexion of the hocks and stifles, though rein-back remains a challenge. Our last ridden session was equally rewarding, with Jasper finding improved balance and alignment, âletting me inâ to his back so I was able to offer subtle seat aids for transitions.
